Jeena V. Joy
Jeena V. Joy
Jeena is a speech language pathologist (SLP) and audiologist based out of Pune. She has been working in this field for over 10 years. She specialises in working with children with Autism and Apraxia of speech. She is a certified Floortime and PROMPT therapist.
Her research accomplishments are complemented by several paper presentations at various conferences along with two international publications. The thought of ‘PossAble’ took birth in her mind when she met parents of children with special needs struggling with their already stressful, day-to-day lives to find and meet therapists or doctors and more importantly finding qualified specialists to deal with their child’s needs.
Her vision is to make rehabilitation easily accessible and ‘Make it Possible’ for each and every child in need to get the right professional help.

Mrs. Shweta Deshpande
Assistant Professor in Audiology at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) School of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology, Pune and currently pursuing her PhD in Audiology.
She is also guiding post-graduate students of Audiology for their research projects.
She has published 8 research papers in international and national journals and written chapters for textbook in Pediatrics.
She has delivered talks on aural habilitation as a guest speaker and presented several papers in national and international conferences.
She has been working in the field of early identification and intervention of children with hearing loss past 15 years with special interest in cochlear implant rehabilitation.
Dr. Kalyani N. Mandke
Dr. Kalyani N. Mandke (Ph.D. Au.D. CCC-A, F-AAA)
Dr. Kalyani Mandke has vast experience in clinical practice in Audiology since 1983 in Pune. She is the founder and head of ‘’Mandke Hearing Services” and her clinical data is comprised of more than 50,000 cases.
She was the first Indian resident to receive the Au.D. degree. She has been felicitated at several national and international platforms and has won several awards among which few are – Bharat Award in 2022 which was given in appreciation of dedicated service to the Indian Speech and Hearing Association at the 53rd National Convention of ISHA on 19thFebruary 2022 in Mysuru.
– Guinness World Records: Certificate of participation- awarded for participating in record event of most people fitted with hearing aids in 8 hours is Starkey Hearing Foundation India achieved 4840 in Pune 26th October 2018.
– Certificate of Recognition: Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contribution in International Achievement of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) 2015 Award was conferred on 13th November 2015 at ASHA Convention Denver, Colorado, USA.
Cochlear Implant Group of India – Dr. Kalyani is a founder member of this professional organisation. She climbed up the ladder, same as other organisations, from EC members to the association’s president. She worked for the organisation for 12 years and did not leave any corner untouched.
She has been associated with two international voluntary associations: Starkey Foundation USA, American Speech and Hearing Association USA, and four national and state-level voluntary organisations.
She believes in giving back to the society.
Dr. Kalyani cannot differentiate her services from professional organisations. Indeed, she is a developer, motivator, and a good organiser. She feels solidarity needs to be expressed at all fronts. Her favourite quote is “If we don’t rise for our profession, who will.”

She is associated with DNB Postgraduate ENT course as a teacher and guide till date. She has also mentored surgeons in India and abroad to start cochlear implant programmes.
She has considerable experience with all ENT and Head and Neck surgeries. Her special interest lies in Otology , Cochlear Implantation, Anterior and Lateral skull base surgeries and Endoscopic sinus surgery.
She has been trained in Otology and Skull base (by Prof Fisch in Switzerland), in Endoscopic sinus surgery (Prof Sethi, Singapore) and in Cochlear Implant (by Bionic Ear Institute, Australia and by Prof Mueller, Germany)
She has more than 40 publications in national and international peer reviewed journals. She has written chapters for 2 Paediatric textbooks.
She is also a faculty at numerous national and international conferences and meetings.

Dr. B. Rajashekhar is the Founding Dean of the first full-fledged college of Allied Health Sciences in India, Manipal College of Health Professions. He is the longest-serving Dean of Manipal Academy of Higher education, an Institution of Eminence. He is currently, Professor in the Dept.of Speech & Hearing & Advisor for Allied Health Sciences Programs of the University. He is an alumnus of AIISH, Mysore (UG, PG & PhD.) & recipient of Five International Fellowships & 3 “Best Paper Awards “at ISHA conventions.
He is the first Indian Speech Pathologist to be trained in the TEP-prosthetic mode of voice restoration for laryngectomies in USA. Besides Dr. Ratna Oration Award”, the most prestigious award in the field of Speech & Hearing in India, he is the recipient of the “Outstanding Contribution Award” in his field in the Asia Pacific Region. He has a Professorial Chair, “CARF & Prof. Bellur Rajashekahr Chair in Head & Neck Cancer Research & Voice Restoration in his name at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University).
He has served as the President of the Indian Speech & Hearing Association for two consecutive terms. He is associated with RCI as an Inspector & member of the expert committee. He is a member of the Academic Councils of Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai & Chettinad University, Chennai; member of the Planning Committee of Sri Devaraj Urs University, Kolar; member of the Advisory Committee of AYJNIHH, Mumbai; member of the BOS of JSS University, Mysore & Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur; member of the Research Advisory Committee of Dr. SR Chandrasekar Institute of Speech & Hearing, Bengaluru. He has over 75 publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals & two book chapters. He has guided & co guided over 20 Ph.D. candidates in his specialty & related allied health specialties.
